The possibility of the protective chromium-carbide coating deposition onto internal cylindrical surfaces of several mm diameters and processed channel length of several tens mm has been studied. The coatings were deposited from the gas phase using the organochromium liquid BARKhOS as the reagent. It has been found that the process under study makes it possible to improve the surface finish class. The deposition rate achieved in the experiments is 5 mum/min. The coating non-uniformity along the processed channel is less than 10 %. Coatings obtained exhibit a high corrosion resistance. Operating lifetime of pressing tools (matrices used in synthetic drugs production) is 3-6 times.
